Spirituality and Mission

The Congregation of the Sisters of St. John the Baptist has as its primary aim the praise of God and the sanctification of its members.
From this spirituality and mission flow three essential elements:

Prepare the way of the Lord

Inspired by its Founder, Saint Alfonso Maria Fusco, the Congregation lives centered on Jesus of Nazareth, with unlimited trust in Divine Providence; considers St. John the Baptist a privileged guide to Jesus.

Recognize Jesus of Nazareth

In this service, the whole Congregation is called to bear witness and reveal Jesus of Nazareth to the world in the light and hope of the coming of the Kingdom of God.

Decrease... so that He may increase

The Sisters, as members of the Church, open to the signs of the times, serve humanity with dedication through evangelization, education and human promotion of children and young people especially the poor, abandoned and at risk.

All over the world...

I have to work for the glory of God: I want to gather many abandoned boys and girls under the wings of divine protection.
Saint Alfonso Maria Fusco

“The Institute is not my work. I am God’s worker, I didn’t want the work, He wanted it, He imposed it on me, He will take care of everything.” (St. Alfonso Maria Fusco)

The Congregation of the Sisters of St. John the Baptist was willed by God.
Fundamentally based on the vows of chastity, poverty and obedience, as a religious family in the Church, its purpose is the praise of God and the sanctification of its members, through the Holy Spirit and apostolic activity, according to the specific purpose of the Institute.

C.S.S.J. B

God wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Tim 2:4).
As part of the of this project, the Congregation lives its charism of “Preparing the way of the Lord”, realized in the Church by the Founder, Priest Alfonso Maria Fusco.

Following his example, we draw inspiration from our model and protector, St. John the Baptist who presented, announced and presented Jesus to the world.
